Workshop on App Development for Teachers
Date of Workshop:Jul 31,2025

During the workshop, teachers actively explored the concepts of Computational Thinking by creating simple mobile applications using MIT App Inventor. Through experimenting with design elements and logic blocks, they gained first-hand experience in app development and learned how such tools can be meaningfully integrated into classroom teaching. MIT App Inventor was developed to democratize app creation through an accessible, block-based programming platform.

App Inventor was developed to democratize app creation through an accessible, block-based programming platform. It enables educators, students, and beginners to design and build fully functional 9 mobile applications without prior coding expertise. The platform’s purpose is to foster computational thinking, creativity, and problem-solving through hands-on engagement with technology. By introducing MIT App Inventor to teachers, the workshop encouraged them to design apps that can serve as innovative teaching tools, thereby enriching the learning experience.
